Today, Disneynatures’ CHIMPANZEE releases on Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD), Digital and On-Demand viewing. The amazing film follows the True-Life Adventure of Oscar, a young chimpanzee whose curiosity and zest for life showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom.

We received the Blu-ray Combo Pack and we were fascinated by the stunning visuals and the beauty of the African rainforest captured in the film. We were very entertained following Oscar’s journey and his remarkable story as he endures life changes and challenges and ends up being raised by Freddy, an alpha male that adopts Oscar after he loses his mother.

Some of the things we loved the most in the movie were the time lapse photograps and the beauty of the rainforest.  There are some seriously amazing shots and that made the movie even more entertaining.

The Bonus material includes a making-of documentary, the “Rise” music video from McClain Sisters, a behind the scenes look at why the documentary was made and more! Our favorite was the making-of the documentary (short clip below):

    I won advanced tickets but couldn’t go. My cousin said it was amazing. We don’t have tv and rely on movies. Need another reason (smile).

    I just watched this movie with my two boys, and it was one of the most enjoyable films we have seen in a long while. The shots of the landscape, especially the lightning storm, were amazing! We didn’t go see it in theaters because I thought the boys would get bored with a documentary, but a co-worker recommended it as having an amazingly compelling story. I got the Blu-Ray from Blockbuster @Home, and it had a ton of cool special features. It was fun, but I don’t know if we will watch it again. I think I’ll go exchange it in-store while I am out to lunch today, and pick up a movie me and the wife can watch tonight.
