Je Porte Mon Bébé: European Hybrid Baby/Toddler Wrap {Giveaway – $140 value}
Not long ago the mail man handed me a parcel that came all the way from France. I was super excited and couldn’t wait to open it because I knew that inside there was a gorgeous hybrid baby wrap ready to be used.
I have been using the Je Porte Mon Bébé (JPMBB) wrap for over a month and I have to say that I am totally in love.
The JPMBB wrap came packed beautifully (see photo) just perfect as a baby shower gift or a gift for a new family.
As soon as I saw and touched the wrap I noticed that the fabric was very soft, dense and super breathable (a must have when baby-wearing during the summer!)
Unlike most other stretchy wraps out there that are made of 100% cotton, the JPMBB is made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. This allows the cotton fiber to stretch and avoid sagging, even when wearing a heavy child or after intensive use. I went out for long walks while carrying a 25lbs toddler and experiences no sagging whatsoever.
Something else I noticed with regards to the fabric was that the JPMBB wrap stretches in every direction, it means it is way more flexible than other wraps I’ve tried and because it is very dense it can be used to wear children from birth up to 14kg and even in the back carry position (no other stretchy wraps allows for safe back carry use).
Like with any other product I use with my son I was curious about the use of chemicals on the fabric. I was pleased to find out that the JPMBB wrap is actually free of allergenic dyes or heavy metals. Big, big plus!

There are three basic positions you can use to carry your little one in the JPMBB wrap: front, hip and back carry. I was very happy to see that their website has wonderful videos that show all of the steps and explain how to set up all of the positions. To check out all of their very detailed videos visit their website HERE.
I have tried several wraps and carriers in the past so I am no newbie when it comes to using a wrap and I always find that it takes me a few tries to learn how to properly use a new wrap. In general learning how to use the JPMBB was easy because all I had to learn was to do one knot, that’s seriously all you need to learn. If you have never used a wrap before and you are looking for baby wrap I definitively recommend you purchase the JPMBB.
After you learn how to do the one knot you can pop baby in or out without having to re-tie anything, really great when you have a newborn that needs constant diaper changes. Besides baby can be placed in a different position without having to untie the knot, you can breastfeed your baby all while using the wrap and without having to untie anything.
I really love that you can pre-tie everything before even grabbing your baby. It means you are ready to go and you can get your child in the wrap safely and in a timely manner. Plus you don’t have to worry about the ends of the fabric hanging and on the ground (when you are out and about).
It is recommended that you wash you wrap before using it the first time. Machine wash it cold, air dry it and don’t use any bleach and you’ll have no issues. I followed their care instructions and the wrap is in great condition.
We really love our Je Porte Mon Bébé (JPMBB) and recommend it 100%.
