Favourite Household Uses for Baking Soda {Giveaway}

Baking Soda is a staple in the kitchen and at home and today we are sharing some of our favourite household uses for baking soda besides cooking:

Not just for cooking in the kitchen.Baking Soda removes odours from plastic containers, polishes silver, freshens sponges and stinky sinks, refreshes tea pots, cups and mugs and works great as a fruit and vegetable scrub. It’s also a common deodorizer for fridges and freezers. Changing the box regularly (every 30 days is recommended) helps ensure optimal odour elimination.

  • Smelly gear no more. Use Arm & Hammer baking soda to clean and deodorize smelly sports equipment like hockey or camping gear, as well as gym bags.
  • Don’t fret about your floors. It helps remove unsightly scuff marks without unwanted scratch marks from tile and no-wax floors. It’s also great at neutralising common household odours and freshens the stale-smelling air in your home.
  • Tackles the greasiest of garages. Baking Soda safely cleans your car lights, chrome, windows, tires, vinyl seats and floor mats without you having to worry about unwanted scratch marks. It’s also a great deodorizer for car interiors and camper water tanks and tackles oil and grease stains on your garage floor or driveway.

  • Have you tried it in the bathroom? It helps remove the dirt and grime from bathroom tiles or no-wax floors quickly and easily. It’s also effective at cleaning shower curtains, deodorizing drains and wastebaskets, surface-safe cleaning and for septic system care.
  • Skin Care and Beauty. Because of the gentle and all natural formula of Arm & Hammer™ Baking Soda, it’s a favourite personal hygiene product for many. It can be used as a body and facial scrub, hand cleanser and a refreshing bath soak. It also helps to fight bad breath and body odour and is ideal for washing hair.
  • Don’t forget to take it outside. It is a must-have for your next camping trip! It’s a dish and pot scrubber, hand cleanser and deodorant, just to name a few. It also cleans your plastic and vinyl pool toys as well as lawn furniture when it’s time to bring them out for the summer and works wonders on barbecue grills.

Arm & Hammer™ Baking Soda has been helping generations of Canadian families cook and clean for decades.  For a full list of these 100 uses of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and usage instructions, visit www.armandhammer.ca. You’ll find them under the ‘Solutions’ tab.

    I use the boxes of the baking soda in my trailer fridges. It really helps the moisture control and odor control when it is in storage during the week.

    I use baking soda and vinegar to unclog drains in my properties. I also use baking soda to take off stuck on food on baking pans by soaking. I sprinkle it liberally with cinnamon on carpets as a Natural deodorizer, then vaccum it up. I use it on stinky laundry to remove bad odours. Sometimes I sprinkle it in the bottom of the kitchen garbage can, below the bag to Naturally remove bad smells.

    I got a henna tattoo on my hand and I wanted to remove it quickly. I mixed baking soda and lemon juice into a paste and put it on and after a few applications the tattoo’s almost gone.

    If I burn food to the bottom of a pot, I like to make a baking paste and let it sit for a couple hours. It’s amazing what it can take off!

    I use baking soda for so many things! I use it for home made and natural beauty products such as face masks. When I’m having some teeth issues lol I actually brush my teeth with the baking soda paste to help whiten my teeth back up. When I make my home made face masks that include turmeric powder the turmeric powder can stain the counter and floor so I use the baking soda and a little water, let it sit for a few mins and rub and it comes right out! I use baking soda to make my natural house hold carpet deodorizer by adding 2 cups of arm and hammer baking soda and 10 drops of spearmint essential oil and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil. Mix and pour on the rug. Let it sit, vacuum and it removes odour! Love it! I have a post on the carpet deodorizer with the baking soda with different essential oils you can use for scents. I can go on all day. I use baking soda arm and hammer in my home made bath bombs. I use it in my home made bath salts recipe. I use it for cleaning. You can add it to the laundry. Mostly my main things I use it for are my bath bombs I have to purchase over 20 arm and hammer baking soda boxes monthly to make my bath produces because I use so much of it each time. I use it A lot for my facial masks and body products and to remove the turmeric powder I loosely get on my counter and I use it every second day on my rug/carpet with my home made Carpet baking soda deodorizer. I am so excited about this giveaway! Thank you for this opportunity.

    I mostly use it to make a paste for getting splinters out of my daughters feet or hands. she gets a lot at camp from the dock and trying to remove it is hard work. make a paste, let it soak and it helps bring it up to the skin. I also use it for the fridge to get rid of the stinkies.

    My favourite receipe is when I put the Baking Soda all around the inside of the toilet, let it sit there for 5 minutes then pour vinegar all over it. Then I just flush the toilet and it’s all clean. If it’s really dirty then I’ll brush it before I flush.

    Good luck to you all. Huggiez.
