holiday baking

Right now is the time to get yourself armed and ready to tackle all your holiday baking.  There is nothing worse than a Pinterest fail OR not having the right tool for the job….trust me I have survived both situations, but just barely.  Baking goes much smoother when you have everything you need on hand and ready to go!

I recently discovered Shop World Kitchen and it may have to become my new go to shopping spot for all things baking, and cooking and setting the perfect table.  They carry so MANY great lines of products including Pyrex and Corningware (you can order replacement lids!!) and Ecko, Visions and Baker’s Secret.  I got a surprise box of Baker’s Secret tools to try out.

What did I get??  An Essentials Silicone Whisk in a great bright orange colour and two different spatulas.  Now the better question is how did I test them???  The whisk has made muffins and cookies as well as gravy. I love that I can use it in my non-stick cookware and know that it will not scratch the coating.

The spatulas each got run through their paces as well.  Each fared well but I would have liked a hybrid of them combined.  I prefer to use silicone spatulas as they can be used to bake as well as on the stovetop.  I like using a spatula to make my scrambled eggs without worrying about melting the spatula but I really don’t like wooden handles. I would rather have a heat safe handle. Otherwise both spatula’s were great and have been put to use lots at our house.

Here I have a spatula helping me make my Chewy Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cookies .

Next on my must have list is the Baker’s Secret Essentials Dual Pastry Wheel! And I know that with all the great brands to shop from I will be filling a box of essential tools to make the holidays go a little smoother!  And replacement lids for my Pyrex–I can’t express how excited this makes me!
