Using the imagination has always been a big part of playtime in our house. Whether it’s dress up, puppets, LEGO, dolls or cars, the kids love making up scenarios and making them come to life with their toys.

When we had the opportunity to try out Malia’s Beach House, by Build & Imagine, of course I jumped at the opportunity. Although doll houses are traditionally considered girl’s toys, we encourage both of our kids to enjoy all types of toys, so I knew Malia’s beach house would be a hit with both our 6-year old son and 4-year old daughter.

And I was right. As soon as the box was delivered to the house, both kids couldn’t wait to start building it.

If I am totally honest, there was actually a little struggle between the two of them because they both wanted to build all of it. Once we figured that out, with the reminder of sharing and working together, both kids had so much fun building and playing.

The beach house comes with 16 double-sided building panels so kids can build the house and then re-build it any way they like, it’s very easy to put the panels together in a number of different ways to build a tall house or a long house. The rooms include a kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, garden and more. There is even a door that opens and closes!

The house comes with a Malia and Skyler doll as well as 40 magnetic accessories including clothes for the girls, pets, furniture for the house, food and stuff for the garden.

I also love that everything fits into an arm-sized box which makes it totally portable if we ever need to take it with us somewhere that the kids need to be entertained.

Best of all, the kids get to use their imaginations as they build the beach house and make up countless different stories as they play.
