alcatel devices

Nowadays most teenagers own a smartphone and a tablet or are asking their parents for one. It is the reality of our technology driven world and an inescapable part of modern life. Unfortunately this means parents are spending a lot of money purchasing multiple devices for everyone in the family. A family of four people would likely end up purchasing four smartphones and three to four tablets!

Some tablets can be as expensive as $500+ and some popular smartphones retail for $700+! Teens don’t want to get inexpensive flip-phones and they want stylish and versatile devices with all the bells and whistles!

Enter the Alcatel OneTouch Devices. One of the newest mobile and phone makes to come to Canada. Alcatel focuses on sleek and easy-to-use mobile devices that run on Android, and the best part? Smartphones like the IDOL 2 S start at $0 down, and tablets like the POP 7 also starting for $0 down!

The slim Alcatel IDOL 2 S smartphone features an impressive 5-inch HD 720p display that fits comfortably on the palm of your hand. It runs on Bell network and it boosts a powerful 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, perfect for running multiple apps at the same time and video streaming!

I had the chance to test drive an Idol 2 S smartphone and I really like all the cool features. The phone is easy to carry around, it is thin and lightweight, very sleek and modern and it runs Android Jelly Bean 4.3. I wish I had a phone like this when I was a teen!

The impressive 5-inch HD 720p display is carefully crafted with an edge-to-edge design that maximizes the surface area of the touch screen. The slim 7.5-millimetre depth makes the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Idol™ 2 S easy to carry—and a perfect fit for the palm of your hand.

I also had a chance to try out the Bell TV app and it was fun to be able to access live TV channels directly on phone while on the go. Great for those times when you are stuck waiting at the doctor’s office or riding the train.

The Idol 2S has a high quality 8 megapixel camera and a front facing camera for video chatting.  Phone sound quality was great and I experienced no drop calls or other issues while testing. Highly recommended and a great deal based on its price range.

The POP 7 tablet also starts for $0 down, it has a spacious 7” display that provides a better viewing experience with lots of room for reading, watching videos and surfing the web. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and you can download a variety of apps that run fast thanks to its powerful 1.3GHZ quad core processor.

This tablet is lightweight and thin and it can connect to the internet via WiFi or 3G, I love having the option to connect either way when WiFi is not available. Other tablets with that feature charge extra money to have both options to connect.

The tablet has a 2.0 megapixel rear and 0.3 megapixel front camera, not the highest quality but good enough for taking everyday photos.

Something I really like about this tablet is the option to add a microSD card with more memory, I have been using tablets that don’t have the option to add memory and I hate running out of space in my devices, this will never happen with the POP 7 tablet.

Now parents and teens alike can purchase the sleek Alcatel OneTouch Devices without feeling like they are out of touch or have been “left behind”, these devices are powerful, run all of the popular apps and they are affordable.
