I didn’t realize until my own little man started growing up that there aren’t a lot of options for little boys dress up options. However, Great Pretenders has fixed that problem with some great colouring costumes. Colouring is also an activity that has many benefits for different age groups, including generating wellness, quietness and stimulating brain areas related to motor skills, the senses and creativity.

We recently got to check out the Spider Superhero Cape. On one side is a satin side features a printed red satin with spiderweb detailing, and on the other side is a coloring side. So not only is my little guy running around as a superhero but he’s also able to stop and take a break from saving the day to colour.

If you’re little isn’t really into spiders, they can also be Captain Awesome! A red satin on one side, and the other a fun colouring side.

The Knight Tunic we received is quite something as well. For a little boy with older sisters playing princess, this one makes it much more fun for a little boy trying to keep up. Now they have a Knight to save the day.

While that’s all great and a lot of fun, there are a few things about these that as a mom, I love. The capes and tunic are machine washable, without special care labels which is huge for unlimited play. The markers aren’t staining my floor or table and are included with each set. Finally, the sets we received each had eight markers that are nice bright. But more importantly the same colours with each… which means no fighting over colors between children.
