A high quality baby video monitor is a must have when you have a young child. If your baby sleeps in your room during the first few months you will still need a monitor later on when they move into their own room and during the day when they are napping and you are not in the room with them.

My infant son sleeps in our bed during the night so I don’t need to use a monitor at night time but I like using a monitor during the day while he naps.  He usually naps in his bassinet in my room and I like having a baby monitor on while I am in the kitchen cooking, in the living room working or playing with my older son in his room.

I recently received the Levana Ovia PTZ Baby Video Monitor to review and I have been using it daily since it arrived. The Ovia features a silent pan/tilt/zoom camera with invisible night vision LEDs and a monitor with a large 4.3″ LCD screen, two-way communication and infrared lights.  The Ovia monitor can also save photos and video to an included micro SD card and it has a long 24-hour battery life.

I love the monitor’s picture quality and how easy it was to set up. I just inserted the battery, plugged in the monitor to charge and then the camera and it was ready to go. Something else that I really like is the secure ClearVu technology that makes the unit reliable and safe, I really like not having to worry about somebody intercepting my baby monitor signal or wireless interference.

I tested the monitor at night time in my toddler’s room as well and I love that the infrared lights are invisible and didn’t create light interference while he slept.  The night vision is also great and the audio is very clear from the monitor and the camera.

While using the monitor during the day with my baby I loved the two way communication and the 3 lullabies option. Great way to lull baby to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of his nap. I also love the video and camera options, great when you want to capture a moment and you don’t want to enter the room to disturb the baby.

Using the Levana Ovia during my son’s naps I definitively feel like I can do more around the house knowing that he is safe. During his afternoon naps and while my toddler is in pre-school I usually make dinner and catch up on e-mails and work. I love being able to see him an hear him without having to run to his room every couple of minutes to check on him.

I definitively recommend Levana monitors, they are committed to baby safety and they exclusively manufacture baby monitors, focusing on quality and giving parents everywhere peace of mind!

Being a mom keeps us busy! What do you wish you could do more of?
