As a busy mom of two children, I am always on-the-go. My days are full of family time, work time, taking care of the house and ensuring my family’s day-to-day activities run smoothly. I rarely have extra time to fit anything else in so admittedly, my finances have not always been a top priority.

But – that needs to change.

I was recently introduced to stnce.ca, an online hub chock full of tools and resources that encourage women of all walks of life to take ownership of their finances.

Some of the resources include:

  • Financial advice, like guest posts from influential and successful Canadian women / financial experts, Q&As with CPA Lisa Zamparo
  • Recommendations for insightful and educational podcasts and books
  • Interviews and Op-Eds featuring inspirational women who have unique stories
  • Confidence content, such as compelling articles from like-minded women
  • Challenges designed to encourage examining our finances from different angles

The Importance of Taking Ownership of Your Finances

stnce has opened my eyes to the importance of owning my financial future. And, it’s inspired me to prioritize this task. In fact, I’ve recently started scheduling some time every week to go through my bank statements, my budget sheets and to look at my investments.

Taking Ownership of Your Finances

Though my reasoning for deprioritizing my finances had more to do with family obligations than my ability, in speaking with other mom friends, I learned that many of them just don’t feel confident enough in their knowledge to manage their family’s finances and so, have passed the onus on.

In addition to providing tools that assist with financial management, stnce strives to empower women to feel more confident by encouraging honest and open conversations.

One of the ways they’re doing this is by hosting an exciting event in Vancouver later this month – and you’re invited!

Taking place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim on Wednesday, September 26thstnce will unite like-minded women, entrepreneurs and influencers and open a dialogue that will inspire and empower attendees to be more confident in all areas of their lives.

And to share her inspiring success story, Manjit Minhas, founder of the 10th largest brewery in the world and co-star of CBC’s Dragons’ Den will be delivering a keynote speech.

Tickets are still available but are going fast. To get yours, please visit: https://stnce-kickoff.eventbrite.com/?aff=OneSmileyMonkey. And, feel free to bring a friend (or two). I’ll be at the event so be sure to stop to say “Hi” if you see me there.

I am also giving away a pair of tickets to the event. If you are able to attend and would like the tickets, comment below letting me know why you would like to go. One random winner will be selected on Sept 10, 2018. Good luck!
