Happy New Year!

The kids are back in school now, and we are settling into our school routine nicely. Hope you all had a fantastic holiday season with the ones you love the most as well.

Today I am sharing some book recommendations for your home library. I am mixing it up a bit this time and sharing some book picks for the kids and some for the adults as well. Some great books from DK Canada to help you start your year right!

5 New Book Recommendations For Your Kid's Home Library

♥ My Mixed Emotions. This super-useful book is packed with helpful hints, tips, and techniques showing children how to recognize and express their emotions. Feelings can be tricky, so My Mixed Emotions is here to coach children through a variety of situations including dealing with bullying, grief, and how to cope if your family splits up.

I find explaining emotions to children can be difficult sometimes and this book has illustrations, colourful graphics and examples to help you navigate it in a fun, engaging way! We love it. Available via Amazon

♥ Are You What You Eat? Help your child better understand how food fuels and effects our bodies in Are You What You Eat? A book that uses colour and fun presentation to communicate nutritional information in a fun and eye-catching way. Kids learn to see their food as more than just taste, learning things like which foods will make you sleepy, how to tell if you’re hungry or full, and why our bodies need nutrition. Teach your kids the basics about proteins, taste buds, antioxidants, and more food facts with Are You What You Eat?.

If you have picky eaters as I do, I highly recommend this book. I find the best way to introduce them to new foods and healthier options is for them to learn more about food, where it comes from, how our body processes what we eat, etc. Lots of great information in an easy to digest format. Available via Amazon.

♥ Stress The Psychology of Managing Pressure.  Covering sources of stress in every area of life: work, exams, relationships, social pressure, money, and more, this practical guide combines infographics and self-analysis questionnaires to make information easy to access and apply.

This dynamic infographic program, founded on cutting-edge psychological research, enables you to deconstruct and deal with stress head-on. Stress: The Psychology of Managing Pressure helps you identify external and internal sources of stress in your life and reframe unhelpful patterns of thought into powerful psychological solutions that you can apply every day. Underpinned by psychological theory, with relevant findings from psychologists, doctors, and teachers, this book will help you smash the shadow of stress in any area of your life and emerge happier, healthier, and more productive.

One of my goals this year is to relax more and manage stress better. I am hoping that the tips and information in this book are going to be instrumental in helping me achieve my goal. We all live busy, stressful lives and a book like this is a must read for all. Available via Amazon.

♥ Life Stories Albert Einstein. In this kids’ biography, follow the remarkable life story of Albert Einstein, whose legendary genius and creative imagination made him one of the world’s most famous thinkers.

Albert Einstein is known as one of the most brilliant people in history. His many theories and discoveries changed the way scientists think and work, and the way in which we look at and understand things. Learn all about Einstein’s family and education, his travels and troubles, and the unique compass he was given as a young boy that first set him on the path to questioning the world around him.

My eldest has been very interested in Albert Einstein, and I love that this series of books does a fantastic job at creating an engaging, age-appropriate book, filled with photos and illustrations with lots of information on Einstein. Check out all of the other titles and life stories available. Available via Amazon.

♥ The Healthy Instant Pot Cookbook.  Make delicious, healthy recipes faster and easier, and with less fat and fewer calories, using your Instant Pot multicooker.

You know your Instant Pot multicooker can do it all–and now it can do it healthier. The Instant Pot is a digital multi-function cooker that can pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, steam, and even make yoghurt. It cooks significantly faster than traditional cooking methods and leaves food more flavorful and often more nutrient dense. With 100 healthy recipes for breakfast, entrées, sides, desserts, and more, you’ll be cooking healthier and faster using this revolutionary device. Each recipe emphasizes using simple, everyday ingredients, and includes key nutrition information to help ensure you’ll stick to your healthy eating plan. A more graphical approach to the recipes makes finding key information easier, and special sections include helpful tips and tricks for using your instant Pot, cleaning and maintaining your Instant Pot, and instructions for adjusting conventional recipes for the Instant Pot.

If you are the lucky owner of an Instant Pot, then you have to get this book. I have been looking for a recipe book with recipes created for the Insta Pot, and this one doesn’t disappoint. I love the simple, easy to find ingredients and all the extra tips and tricks. Available via Amazon.
