Science experiments are a big deal in our house.  My husband remembers how much he loved science when he was a kid and has done a few little experiments with the boys.  My oldest loves it!  We were offered a chance to try a Clifford the Big Red Dog Science Kit from The Young Scientists Club and I figured this would be right up his alley so I chose the Magic  Science Kit.

Guess what–I can sum up the whole experience in one equation:

KIDS + SCIENCE = FUN LEARNING!

Recommended for ages 3+ I was interested to see what my boys would learn and take away from the kit.  Obviously at six years old, Bug took away more from it but my three year old caught on pretty quick.  In fact we opened the kit and did the first three experiments immediately, and the boys were able to explain and show hubby how to do them when he got home from work.  I was pretty amazed by what they learned after.

I chose this set because I thought we would be able to do the experiments multiple times.  I was right-the kit comes with all the supplies and we just added water and basic household items like salt etc.  For expendable supplies the kit contained enough to be able to do the experiment multiple times before having to replace simple stuff like sponges or glitter.  And really who doesn’t have a lifetime supply of glitter?

The kit has a book with Clifford and that girl from the Clifford show BUT we have never watched the show or read the books so we were just there for the science.  I would recommend the kit to anyone even if like us, they are not Clifford fans. If you have fans at your house-GREAT, it obviously adds a little fun touch but don’t let it hold you back if you think your little ones would like the kit.
