Flip cover, Stay Dry Insert & Disposable Inserts by Cotton Babies

Who doesn’t love getting fluffy mail? (fluffy mail = cloth diaper mail)  I certainly do! I am always so excited when I get my cloth diaper packages! Specially when I get something new to review/feature! This week I received a Flip Diaper System kit from The Cloth Diaper Shop.   I was sent a Flip cover, one Stay Dry Insert and a bag of Disposable Inserts to review.

I wanted to try Flip Diapers for a while since they are advertised as less expensive than other systems and very easy to use. I have only used Pocket Diapers and AIOs before so it was interesting to try them.

Flip Diaper Cover and Stay Dry Insert

The Flip cover’s outer layer is made of 100% Laminated Polyester, same as the Stay Dry Insert’s layer.  The absorbent layer is made of Polyester and Nylon.  The Insert’s side that’s supposed to go against the skin is super soft and I like that.

Something great about the Flip system is that you can re-use the cover and just change the insert depending on how messy the diaper is.  I noticed it was always fine when there was just urine but if I had a messy poop the cover would get really messy as well. It was messy because the insert was bunching a bit and the sides of the cover were left exposed.

Small/Medium/Large sizing on the Insert

Like any other One Size diaper with the Flip you can change the snap settings on the front to adjust the rise and the same with the waist once the baby is wearing the diaper.  I was able to get a good fit that seemed comfortable.

One of my favorite things about this diaper was how fast it is to get it all ready to use. You just tuck the insert under both contour flaps and you are good to go. No stuffing required.

Flip cover with disposable insert

The Flip cover also has the option to be used with disposable inserts for special occasions when you can’t use cloth. I tried them a couple of times while running errands outside of the house and they were fine. I like that they are made of a softer material than other disposable inserts I have tried before. He never had a poopy diaper while wearing them so I can’t say how they would hold poopy messes though.

In conclusion I enjoyed testing the Flip Cloth Diapering System. It is different from what I am used to but I see how it works great for on the go and when you don’t want to carry a bunch of covers with you.  You can just take the one cover and the inserts to replace when messy.

Win it: The Cloth Diaper Shop has very generously offered one Flip Cover, One Stay-Dry Insert and a pack of Disposable Inserts to one lucky reader from US/Canada.
