diapers

I can’t believe our second son is now a toddler, he is 18-months-old and he is a happy, active and extremely independent little guy. He wants to do things himself and he has a mind of his own, and sadly diaper changes are not on the top of  his “fun stuff to do” list.

Changing a squirmy toddler’s diaper can be quite a challenge. He is a heavy wetter so we use disposable diapers for nap/bed time and he often ends up taking his diaper off after he is done his nap, imagine the messes we’ve had to deal with!

Enter the Huggies® Little Movers Plus diapers, available exclusively at Costco Canada, these new diapers feature double grip strips that help the diaper stay on your child. They are super soft and comfortable and very absorbent during both day and night time. They are actually Huggies® most absorbent diapers* for day & night protection.  (*except for Huggies® Overnites Diapers).

We have been testing the Huggies® Little Movers Plus diapers and they are a great fit for our busy toddler. They are super absorbent and he is dry and comfortable and actually keeps his diaper on him during nap/bed time. Yay for no more messy sheet changes for us!

I also love having a great disposable option when he is not wearing cloth and these are great for travel too.

We have also been trying a couple of different approaches and we have found some ways to make diaper changes a bit easier at home.

Some of the things that have worked with our toddler below:

  • Talk with your toddler and distract him while changing his diaper
  • Encourage participation by asking him to help you pass some wipes or a clean diaper, etc
  • Change the diaper change location to break routine
  • Get some toys/books and leave them close to the diaper changing station ready for the next diaper change
  • Sing fun songs while changing the diaper

Some days diaper changes are easier than others but I know that this stage will also pass and soon he will be potty trained. Do you have any other tips on how to make toddler diaper changes easier?
