About Me

Hello! My name is Angela and I am a Canadian mom (originally from Colombia), living in Vancouver, BC with my wonderful husband and happy little boy. I am the creator and writer behind One Smiley Monkey and the author of Raising Baby Green. The Easy Way!. I am passionate about writing, photography and spending time with my family.

Since becoming a mother I have been inundated with choices in everything from feeding techniques, baby products, types of diapers to use/buy and many more. Every parent wants to make the best choices for their child but it can be confusing and daunting. With so many products available I have tried to do extensive research (with hands on testing) to find the best solutions to the everyday challenges and needs of a new family. Whenever possible I really try to find products that are inexpensive, natural (either in material or concept) and have minimal to no environmental impact (e.g. do we really need all this plastic and disposable diapers?).

In the Summer of 2012 I participated in an episode of CBC Marketplace titled: Lousy Labels: Home Edition (watch full episode here). In this episode 10 popular cleaning products that use labels claiming they are “green” and “natural” are exposed since the ingredients used are not as safe as they should be. A must see for anybody interested in green/natural products.
