This past summer was officially our first summer as a family of three. We took advantage of the sun and our new parenting role and documented it all with lots and lots and lots of photos. We kept folders of photos in our hard drives and shared a bunch of them on Facebook but we rarely printed any copies. I mean what if something happens to our laptops or the hard drives? What about Aidaan’s greatgrandmas and grandparents that love seeing “real” photos of him/us instead of just the e-mail/Facebook photos?
Allow me to introduce you to Shutterfly.com. Using their super user friendly new Custom Path feature I was able to customize and design a stylish and beautiful photo book that contains my favorite photos of our little one. There is no need to download anything and you do everything directly from their site.
I uploaded all of my photos with just one click and they were automatically sorted by date. I was then able to choose from a collection of backgrounds, layouts and embellishments and add, delete, resize and move pictures and text anywhere on the page.
My favorite feature was the Smart Autofill. My pictures were stylishly arranged in the order they were taken and some embellishments and backgrounds were automatically added. I loved how some looked so much that I didn’t make any changes and just moved around other pages. Great feature because it saves you tons of time!
I spent a few hours playing around with the photos and templates and when it was ready I watched the preview of the photo book and decided it was ready to print. Just a few entries (name/address/shipping address/payment details) and I was all done.
I love that I can now go back to my account and re-print the book and send it to a bunch of family members. I am sure it would make an awesome Christmas present for grandparents.
And here it is. The final product. Super stylish and high quality.
