Resolutions

I can’t believe it is 2014 already, doesn’t time just fly? Last year we officially became a family of four as we welcomed our second baby boy into our life and we are enjoying every minute of it. Now as we start the new year it’s time to start working on our new year’s resolutions and goals we set up for 2014.

I personally find that it is best for me to pick a few, concrete resolutions for the year instead of making a long list of things that I may forget about.  Here are a few of my own resolutions for 2014:

Exercise more: Like many people out there one of my main goals this year is to get back into my exercise routine. With my first son I was back at the gym doing kickboxing when he was 6 weeks old, now with baby #2 it seems a lot more difficult to leave the house to go to classes but I believe that it is very important to go work out and stay healthy for my two boys. It is not only about getting back into my pre-baby clothes but also about my own health.

Enjoy one on one time with my toddler: I am also planning to make the time I spend with my toddler everyday more fun and enjoyable for both of us.  He starts pre-school in September this year and I know that I am not going to get this time back with him. Besides, with a new baby brother he needs the extra reassurance and knowing that I still enjoy doing one on one actives with him.

Explore more: Something else I am hoping to do more is to get out of the house with both children to go explore the city and take them to new places. There is nothing better than real life exploration for learning and having the opportunity to spend time with both of my children.

Read more: It’s hard to take time for yourself when you have a busy toddler and a newborn but I want to take some time to read more books this year. I used to read a lot more before having children and I want to get back to reading more, even if it means just a few minutes here and there when I have the time.

I am really looking forward to what 2014 will bring for our family!

What are YOUR new year’s resolutions? Did you make a long list or did you keep them short and concrete?
