We recently had a chance to test drive the Urban Jungle Stroller in Silver from Mountain Buggy, available exclusively at Best Buy. This stroller has been designed with active parents in mind and it features shock absorbing suspension, easy-to-access handlebar brake and a 22 lbs capacity gear tray with pocket. The stroller also features three 12″ air-filled tires that can glide over all types of terrains.

Designed for both outdoor enthusiast and urban adventurers, the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle is super versatile. Thanks to its weight distribution, the Urban Jungle requires only a bit of force to “pop” up the front wheel when taking it up curbs and other obstacles. There is a lot of construction in our area and a few houses are being built in our block so we had to test the stroller on sidewalks filled with gravel, wet dirt and uneven pavement, all with great success as it was super easy to maneuver it.

The Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle was very easy to assemble out of the box and there were no tools required. It took about 5 minutes to put together as it only needed the wheels to be installed. The instruction booklet that came in the box was pretty clear and very easy to follow.

Folding/Unfolding and Maneuverability

This stroller is medium weight, heavier than smaller umbrella strollers but not too heavy.  It is very easy to fold and unfold and this can be done in one action, it is also easy to move around once it has been folded.

The stroller fits well in the trunk of our vehicle (RAV4). I  found the stroller was not too heavy to lift in and out of the trunk of my car, however the wheels are big so they take a bit more space than other smaller wheeled strollers.

In general I found this stroller very easy to maneuver. Going up curbs and other obstacles was a breeze and changing from lock back to full swivel on the front tire was easy to do with the flick of a lever in the wheel area.

The seat of the stroller can lie flat for naps and it can be then adjusted to an upright position. It can also be removed to be used with a carrycot for younger babies or with an infant car seat (cot and connector sold separately).

The seat also features an easy to use 5-point harness that requires just one push of the button to release, reload one at a time.

The stroller’s seat is padded and it has a large canopy with flick out mesh sun visor to shield little ones from the sun/rain. The sun canopy has been tested to ensure a UPF 50+ rating.

Something I noticed that I really like is that you can adjust the buggy crotch strap to suit the comfort of your little one. For extra comfort you can also extend the leg rest for your child by pulling out the retractable bar located underneath the seat.

The Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle stroller has a pretty large basket in the bottom that can be easily accessed from the back of the stroller. The ample and easy to access storage space is definitively great for carrying your diaper bag, shopping bags, your little one’s toys and more.

The stroller features a magnetic peekaboo flap that I LOVE, it allows you to check on your child without making a sound, perfect for nap time or when you don’t want to distract them but still want to see them.

To accommodate a second child you can connect a freerider stroller board (sold separately) to the Urban Jungle’s rear axle. I love that! Plus the freerider transforms to a kids scooter after use.

The stroller also comes with a reversible liner that allows you to personalize your stroller and is machine washable, a big plus when you are running around with messy little ones.

Final Thoughts

Overall we really enjoyed testing out the Urban Jungle Stroller.  This is an ideal stroller for families looking for flexibility and an all-terrain stroller. This stroller is made to last with a high quality aluminum frame. I definitively recommend the Urban Jungle if you are looking for a versatile stroller for both city life and your outdoor adventures.
