Osmo Coding Game Kit for iPad

Osmo Coding is the easiest way to introduce coding to young children through play. The Osmo Coding game teaches logic skills and problem solving, the skills needed for children to succeed in an increasingly digital world. My father is a computer engineer and I remember growing up with him teaching me a bit about coding when I was around 10 years-old. I love that with Osmo Coding you can teach you kid the basic concepts of coding from as early as 5-years of age.

We recently received the new Osmo Coding Game Kit for iPad to try out. We already own the starter Osmo Genius Kit and the boys love playing with all of the fun interactive games. (full review of the Osmo starter kit here).

To play the Osmo Coding game you control “Awbie”, a fun character who loves to eat strawberries. With each coding command you add you are guiding Awbie on a strawberry eating adventure. The Osmo Coding Game Kit for iPad comes with 19 coding blocks, the base and mirror and three free Osmo game downloads from the iTunes App Store. If you have the base and mirror already you can buy the Coding Game on its own as well.

I love watching my 5-year-old son play the Coding game, little ones learn best through play and the game is interactive and fun. This game keeps my little one engaged for hours and I like knowing that he is both problem solving and using his logic skills while he plays. I find that he is also learning to be a bit less impulsive while playing to avoid pressing the “play” button before completely setting up the commands. A great entertaining and educational game for kids young and old!
