Walmart Frugal Heroes Challenge! #walmartfrugalheroes

Walmart Canada

Last week Walmart Canada invited me to participate in the first-ever Frugal Heroes Challenge event at our local Walmart store. I was given a choice to pick one frugal challenge to participate and after some consideration I chose the “Get a head-to-toe summer outfit for mom for $100” challenge.

I received a $100 Walmart gift card in the mail and headed to Walmart on Thursday May 2nd with other frugal shoppers. I am not going to lie, it was pretty fun to indulge in a little shopping excursion where the objective was to buy stuff only for me. Usually as a Mom I am focused on my family so it was great to be able to indulge in some guilt free shopping.

I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to put together a full summer outfit (head-to-toe) that was only $100 but I arrived at my local Walmart with an open mind and excited to rise to the challenge!

I decided to browse and choose outfits without focusing or paying attention to pricing. I tried on a few outfits and shoes and only after choosing my favorites I sat down to calculate how much it was all going to be.

I couldn’t believe it! I was able to purchase a full summer outfit for myself including an accessory for $50.40! Almost half of the total amount given to me for the challenge! I was speechless.

Here are some photos of what I picked and my receipt!

You seriously can’t beat Walmart’s prices! I love my outfit and I love that I even had enough left over to get dinner ingredients and had money left in the gift card at the end! Amazing right?

Those are adorable shoes! I was able to find my little guy some knock off crocs at Walmart for $5. They are a good place to look for inexpensive shoes.

Super cute outfit! I’d totally wear it! Way to go! My money always goes a long way @WalMart. I love the price matching and take advantage of it every time I shop. I used to run around to 10 different stores every week but now thats a thing of the past. Did u know, they even price match directly from your smart phone!

You did an amazing job! What a cute outfit, and i love the shoes as well, I also love the bracelet. I am frugal as well, I shop clearance and last year at Easter, i managed to shop for my disabled clients who each got chocolate, pants, a tshirt, and a hoodie for under $30! Going shopping for Easter again on Thursday, I can’t wait lol
