SteriPEN

A few weeks ago we received a SteriPEN Emergency to review. A SteriPEN is a Handheld UV Water Purifier that is sturdy, durable and portable.  The SteriPEN Emergency purifies 200 half-liter servings of water on one set of AA lithium batteries using a reliable and effective UV lamp.

The great thing about the SteriPEN is that it is super easy to use. All you have to do is take the protective cap off and press the button, then wait for a green light to flash and put the bulb into the bottle of water. A few swirls later (90 seconds for a full liter)  you will have fresh tasting and safe drinkable water.

SteriPEN uses the power of ultraviolet light to make water safe to drink. The UV light kills a wide variety of bacteria, viruses,  protozoan cysts and all the things you do not want to have in your drinking water. The SteriPEN’s technology is the same technology used to purify water by leading bottled water manufacturers, as well as by major cities in the United States and Europe.

The SteriPEN Emergency is a great device to keep in your emergency first-aid kit. It is good to know that you can use it to purify your water in case of disaster or emergency or when dealing with compromised water supplies.  It is also fantastic for hiking, camping and outdoor adventures.

The SteriPEN would be also very useful when visiting countries with questionable water quality.  You can save money by not having to purchase bottled water and you can relax and enjoy your trip without having to worry about the water you are drinking.

We love the SteriPEN and how easy it is to use. We will be getting at least one more to put in the car for emergencies and we are looking forward to taking it with us on our next trip overseas.
