There is a very specific moment each November when I look around my home and think, Okay, it is time. Time to pull out the bins, untangle the lights, and bring out the Christmas tree I have been patiently walking past for weeks.

I know some people have very strong opinions about when decorations should go up, and according to them, I am “too early,” but honestly, I have made peace with the fact that I am an early decorator at heart.

In fact, I wear that badge proudly.

Must-Have Christmas Decorations to Transform Your Home

For me, decorating early is not about rushing the season. It is about stretching the magic. The world can feel heavy and dark these days, so if string lights, garlands, and the soft glow of a Christmas tree offer even a little more joy, then why not enjoy it for as long as possible? I love embracing the coziness and the sparkle, and I refuse to apologize for wanting more of the things that make me feel warm and grounded.

There is something incredibly comforting about putting on a Christmas movie “early,” sipping a warm drink, and slowly transforming the house into a winter wonderland. It is like gifting myself a moment of peace and nostalgia before the real rush of the holidays begins. And truly, I do not judge anyone for how early or how late they choose to decorate. If your tree goes up on November 1, great. If you wait until mid-December and make a day of it, also great. We all find our joy in different ways, and that is what makes this season special.

So this weekend, that is exactly what I will be doing, filling my home with twinkling lights and little touches that make everything feel festive. It is my way of embracing the season slowly and intentionally, and letting myself enjoy it just a little longer.

Do you decorate early? How early? I would genuinely love to hear what your holiday traditions look like
