BOO-nana Pops

BOO-nana Pops

Yield: 6 boo-nanas

A spooky Halloween treat that keeps the kids' fingers clean and tummies happy.

Ingredients

  • 3 Medium, ripe but firm bananas
  • 200g White chocolate
  • 6 Popsicle sticks
  • Your favourite cereal to decorate, such as EnviroKidz Choco Chimps

Instructions

Peel bananas and cut each in half width-wise. Insert a popsicle stick into each and arrange them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Transfer to the freezer until frozen.

Once the bananas are frozen, heat the chocolate in a pot or microwave until completely melted and soft. Transfer to a mug and work quickly to dip the bananas, scraping/ draining off excess chocolate and place back on the parchment paper. Make sure to add the ghost’s eyes and facial features before the chocolate hardens.

Once finished returned to the freezer until you’re ready to serve!

Jack-o-Lantern Breakfast Bowls

Serves 3

Combine the fun of Halloween and the great taste of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal for the most important meal of the day!

Ingredients

  • 3 Large navel oranges
  • Mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • Yogurt
  • Your favourite cereal, we used EnviroKidz Gorilla Munch

Directions

Assess each orange to determine how best it sits upright and where you’d like to put the face, then cut the top off each orange just like you would a pumpkin. Using a small knife cut your jack-o-lantern face into the orange.

Next, using a tablespoon, scoop out all of the orange from the inside (don’t throw it away!) – being careful not to damage the face you’ve cut – until the inside is clean.

Press out shapes from the face and then start to fill up the breakfast bowls. Layer yogurt, fruit and EnviroKidz cereal until you get to the top, then serve for a scary start to the day!
