5 Reasons To Include Honey Dijon Mustard in Your Family’s Diet

honey dijon mustard diet

Do you include Honey Dijon Mustard in your family’s diet? We eat a lot of salads and often use Maille Honey Dijon Mustard for our vinaigrettes and grilled vegetable marinade. We introduced a variety of different mustards into the boy’s diets early on, but they really took to the sweet, tangy flavour of Maille’s Honey Dijon. I also love that Honey Dijon has many health benefits that make it easy for me to introduce new, unfamiliar foods to my two sons at the dinner table, perfect when introducing new vegetables!

Below I am sharing five reasons for you to consider including Honey Dijon mustard in your own family’s diet as well.

  1. Honey Dijon Mustard is filled with nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, fiber, protein, magnesium, iron and calcium.
  2. Honey Dijon Mustard can help enhance flavour in your meals. You can simply add a spoonful while cooking your meats and veggies by marinating or glazing, and you can even use Honey Dijon in desserts!
  3. When creating vinaigrettes, Honey Dijon Mustard acts as a binding agent between olive oil and vinegar, giving it a delicious, smooth texture.
  4. Honey Dijon can act as an emulsifier instead of high-fat ingredients such as butter or cream in sauces. You can add it to Greek yogurt to create a yummy sauce or dip.
  5. Diverse eating habits tend to lead to healthier children, getting little ones used to new flavours can help develop their palate. Honey Dijon Mustard can make vegetables tastier and make it easier for little ones to eat their veggies.

I am also sharing a delicious and quick vegetable marinade that can be used as a salad dressing as well, including Maille Honey Dijon Mustard. So easy and yummy!

I’m not a big fan of mustard but do sometimes use it in a salad dressing. I think that the Maille Honey Dijon Mustard would be more to my taste than any of the others. 🙂

There are certainly enough reasons to start using this mustard, though I don’t know if these reasons are the same for all mustards.

I had difficulty trying to make my comment above, so I’ll try again here … I love, love, love Aveeno products so would love to share your gift basket with a friend who is facing some health challenges!! It was very interesting to read some of the health benefits of honey mustard … I love it and have used it lots over the years … will pass some of the suggestions for using it to encourage young kids to try new foods (1 of our grands has a very limited diet) and never thought of using it in desserts!! 🙂

I didn’t know it had Omega 3’s in it! Well, that’s cool! I was going to try a dollop of it in my mac ‘n cheese when I make it next instead of dry mustard.

I’m sorry to say that I didn’t know how healthy Honey Dijon Mustard is, I do use mustard in my salad dressing and it does emulsify the dressing nicely. Next time I’ll be buying Honey Dijon Mustard 🙂
