I have been looking for a compact and easy to use espresso machine for a while. We had a large espresso machine at home that my husband used, but it was pretty complicated, and with so many steps and buttons to press, I was never comfortable to try it out. Enter the new Bambino Plus by Breville, their newest addition to their espresso machines.

The Bambino Plus is ideal for small spaces, and it allows novice coffee makers like myself the chance to make high-quality coffee at home, all on my own. The Bambino Plus features a 3-second heat up time and precise espresso extraction, a 54mm portafilter with 19 grams for full flavour and automatic milk texturing. Even my experienced espresso making husband loves it.

Easy to Use

Breville: The Bambino Plus {Review}

As soon as I received the Bambino Plus, I opened the box to set it up and to try it out. It didn’t take me long to have it running and to make my first latté. So easy to use and so good! I love steamed milk and being able to make lattés at home has been amazing. I just need to practice creating latté art next.

Compact

I love how compact the Bambino Plus is. It doesn’t take a lot of counter space, and it is a powerful little machine.  It is great that you can choose to make one or two shots of espresso at a time as well. Perfect in the mornings when you are making lattés for two.  I also love that there aren’t many buttons and everything is simple and clear, nothing confusing or difficult to understand.

Perfect Dose and Temperature

The Bambino Plus uses a 19g portafilter for barista quality performance at home. I love that it comes with the tools necessary to ensure the coffee is extracted perfectly. I use my Breville Dose Control grinder in the “espresso” setting to get the perfect grind.

Breville’s precise temperature control (PID technology) also detects and minimizes any temperature fluctuations during extraction. Delivering a great tasting espresso shot every single time.

Automatic Steam-Wand

The Bambino Plus has an automatic steam-wand that turns milk into a silky smooth micro-foam, perfect for latté art, with the touch of a button. I also like the automatic rinsing at the end of the process. I recommend having a clean wet cloth ready to clean the wand as soon as the milk has been steamed, to avoid it sticking to the wand and damaging it. It is done the same way the baristas at your favourite coffee shop do it.

I am very happy with my new latté/espresso maker. I used to spend a lot of money at coffee shops getting lattés, and I am loving the convenience and ease of making my own lattés at home. The Bambino Plus is perfect if you don’t have a lot of counter space or if you are intimidated by the more complex espresso machines in the market. This one is easy to use and delivers high-quality espresso that coffee lovers will enjoy.

Breville’s Bambino Plus is available for $699.99 CAD at Breville.ca, and at Breville retailers across Canada.
