I try to teach my daughter important life lessons through my words and actions and yet another way is through her play. As a child, I loved my dolls and the hours of creative story-telling that came along with it – whether playing alone or in a group, imagination was present. Upon receiving the Disney Princess Royal Shimmer Tiana doll, my daughter and I looked into her story to learn more about her journey.
Princess Tiana is a resourceful girl who dreams of opening a New Orleans restaurant one day. She is inspired by her late father and has great business and cooking skills. She struggles along the way but is confident that with hard work, saving her money, and determination, her dreams can come true; what a remarkably ambitious princess.
The Hasbro Disney Princess Tianna doll is beautiful and my daughter particularly loved her classic outfit with a twist; the signature-coloured gown has gorgeous glitter print detailing. It’s meant for children 3+ and is perfect for my daughter at the age of four.
There is also a Disney Princess Little Kingdom Mini Tiana for ages 4+ that comes with an easily removable outfit. This small version is a little more difficult for tiny hands to maneuver and the pieces could be easily lost, so if you are looking for a Princess Tiana doll, be aware of the age recommendations. Both dolls are great for teaching fine motor skills by changing their outfits or playing with their shoes and tiaras and their gowns are beautiful which is always a bonus.
My daughter has often said that when she grows up, she would like to be a princess. If one of those characteristics means that she would like to be full of ambition, then I’m all for it! One of my hopes for my daughter is that she will always remember to learn someone’s story to become more compassionate, empathetic and understanding. Princess Tiana’s dream was to open a restaurant, what’s yours?
Princess Tiana and Disney Princess dolls are available online at Hasbro.com and your local ToysRUs.
