projectmc2

When my daughter and I were introduced to the Project Mc2 Experiment dolls it was love at first sight. Having recently picked up a second hand doll house from the side of the road (major score) we are having a love affair with dolls. If we are not sleeping or eating, we are spending the rest of our time playing with dolls and creating make believe stories.  Even with our new found love for dolls, one thing hasn’t been forgotten, our love for crafting and diy projects. This is were Project Mc2 Experiment dolls blows every other doll out of the water. Don’t get me wrong, we still love our princesses, but these dolls are just cool.

The Project Mc2 Experiment dolls come dressed as everyday girls, think your typical tween or teen girl. They wear plaid shirts, platform shoes, skinny jeans, and toques, they look like your average girl. But what really sets them apart from the rest of the dolls is that they each come with their very own experiment.  We received Devon D’Marco who comes with instructions on how to make puffy paint and Adrienne Attoms who has instructions for bath bombs. Who cool is that? So while you are playing with your dolls, you can get hands on and create at the same time.

While the dolls (just like the Netflix show they are based off of) is aimed for ages 6+, if your child is able to grasp a few simple concepts such as mixing dry goods with liquid, you are good to go. My daughter is three and loves to help in the kitchen and to craft, so even though we are younger than the recommended age the projects were a huge hit with her, just as the dolls were. So far we have experimented with Devon D’Marco and created our very own Strawberry Lemonade scented puffy paint. I simply portioned out the ingredients, as per the recipe in the instructions and let my daughter do all the mixing. Once our puffy painted was created we filled up the supplied tubes and she was able to create her own puffy paint masterpiece.

My only regret I have with these dolls, is not hearing of them sooner. We have been to so many birthday parties over this past year where these dolls would have been the perfect gifts. These dolls make for the perfect way to keep our creative juices flowing and spend a little one on one time with mom.
