Walmart Canada launched their second annual Mom of the Year Award earlier this month and it’s now your chance to recognize and nominate an inspirational mom in your life.
Motherhood is one of the most important jobs on the planet and I am happy to see that Walmart is bringing the Mom of the Year Award back for a second year, specially after how successful it was last year. I truly believe inspirational moms deserve to be recognized and celebrated for everything they do!
Visit www.momoftheyear.ca to nominate a Canadian mom that deserves to be recognized, using the entry form you can describe all the qualities that make her special and share why she deserves to be nominated.
The Selection Committee
A Selection Committee of Mom Ambassadors comprised of three admired Canadian mothers, one Walmart Canada moms and last year’s Mom of the Year will determine the recipient of the 2013 Award. Professional singer, songwriter and Juno award winner, Chantal Kreviazuk, alongside notable comedian, actress and radio host, Sophie Prégent, and the 2012 Mom of the Year, Katie Schulz, will work together with editor-in-chief of Walmart Live Better magazine, Sandra Martin and Emma Fox to review the entries.
How it works
This year there will be a final public voting process, where Canadians will have the chance to review the top 20 candidates and vote for one mom they want to see become one of the eight finalists. Each finalist will receive $10,000 to spend on themselves and the remaining seven will receive $10,000 for the charity or cause of their choice. The Mom of the Year award recipient will receive $100,000 for the charity or cause of her choice.
All Mom of the Year finalists will be flown to Toronto for a day of pampering and an awards gala on October 5, 2013. Nominations for the Mom of the Year Award close on June 16 and My Finalist public voting will begin on July 4 through August 1. The eight finalists will be notified around August 6.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to thank that special mom in your life for everything she does and nominate her to become Mom of the Year now. Visit www.momoftheyear.ca for more details.
