I was recently introduced to “Anointment”, a fabulous natural skin care line. Available online at Happy Baby Daily Needs Anointment offers high-quality handmade soaps and skin ointments made with natural ingredients, focusing particularly on pregnancy, postpartum and new mom & baby care. Anointment uses traditional herbal knowledge combined with scientific research to formulate products that are gentle and effective.
I received a selection of their products to try and I just love how gentle they all are. A set of these would make a wonderful holiday gift for any pregnant lady or a new mom, they are also reasonably priced so you won’t have to break the bank!
-Anointment Shea Butter Cream
“Renowned for its incredible moisturizing capacity, Shea butter is often used to minimize the effects of aging and nourish the skin. This moisturizing cream is recommended as a face, hand, and body cream and even lends moisture to dry hair. Contains 35% certified organic and fairly traded Shea butter and virgin coconut oil.”
I seriously love the Anointment Shea Butter Cream, it is incredibly nourishing and melts in your fingers. Love love love the scent with a hint of coconut.
-Anointment Om Shanti Handcrafted Soap
“Instant karma – just add water! Cinnamon, patchouli, organic fair-trade coffee grounds, and cocoa powder! Our sweet, rich, and exfoliating signature soap lets you indulge your senses and your skin.”
-Anointment Oatmeal and Honey Handcrafted Soap
“The scent of oatmeal and honey is warm and cozy, like breakfast at home. Featuring certified organic Canadian oats grown in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island and unrefined wildflower honey from our backyard beehive, gentle oatmeal and honey soap helps soothe itchy and irritated skin.”
Since I usually get really itchy dry skin as the winter approaches I have been using the Anointment soaps everyday to prevent dryness. The soaps are super gentle, help soothe any itchy or irritated skin and they infuse extra moisture. They also smell heavenly!
-Anointment Organic Soap Scrubbie
“An ingenious and practical way to contain your Anointment soaps. Hand-sewn using unbleached organic cotton terry and unbleached organic cotton flannel with a printed organic cotton handle, our Soap Scrubbie is specifically designed to hold a regular sized bar of Anointment soap. Featuring an envelope style opening, simply slip your soap inside, wet it, and you’ve got an instant way to produce lather and gently clean your skin in the bath or shower. Simply slip the soap inside and leave it until it’s gone!”
O.k. seriously, the scrubbie is such a wonderful idea! It has been designed to hold the Anointment soaps and it is made with unbleached organic cotton terry and unbleached organic cotton flannel, I love how I can slip the soap inside it and use it every day until the soap is finished. A great way to produce just the right amount of lather.
-Anointment Herbal Clay Cleanser
“A gentle alternative to harsh soapy cleansers. Organic oats, clay and flax seed powder and herbal botanicals gently cleanse without over drying”
This is a dry clay mix that you moisten when applying. I have never used clay cleansers before so it was interested to try something different. I like that you can see the ingredients when you are using it, the oats, the clay, flax seed powder etc. You can use it daily to clean your face or as a facial mask. I like how my skin feels really clean and free of oil after applying.
All Anointment products I tried were very gentle and effective and I highly recommend them if you are looking for natural skin care options. You can check out the line at Happy Baby Daily Needs and while you are there be sure to take a look at their great selection of eco-friendly products for mom and baby!
