Anybody who has a baby, has held a baby, or has been anywhere near a baby knows that barf happens. Babies spit up. A lot. Some more than others, but at some point they all do it. There is nothing worse than a baby dropping a wet load of spit up all over your shoulder and possibly half way down your back to make you regret not using a burp cloth and/or bib.
Enter baby JaR Burp’N Drool gift sets. Available in various fun and funky designs and colour schemes, these 100% cotton sets are soft, absorbent and will save many a load of laundry. The bibs also double for feeding time and/or drooling time, which helps keep baby clean and – more importantly – dry.
Each set includes one 1.4” x 18” original burp cloth as well as two coordinating 7.5” x 10.5” drool bibs. The burp cloth and bibs feature a patterned cotton front with a soft terry back, which is a nice feature since terry is very absorbent, but the cloths allows for the cute patterns to still show. We used both items with little miss E and I was very happy with them as well as with how they wash, which is obviously critical for an item designed to get messy and dirty repeatedly.
I should note that I did find the bibs to be on the smaller side compared to others available so they would be perfect for younger or smaller babies. I don’t see us using the bibs much past a year, but the burp cloth is generously sized and would have great longevity.
The Burp N’Drool set is available online at www.rockprettybaby.ca and retails for $34.00. This would make a fabulous shower gift or would be an ideal set for somebody just starting out who needs more than just one bib.
Baby JaR also makes a lovely cotton muslin swaddle blanket. The beauty of a muslin swaddle is that it is light weight, but still provides warmth and incredible softness. Swaddles can of course be used to swaddle a newborn, but they can also be used in a pinch for burping, nursing, as a change pad, or to cover a baby’s stroller from the sun or wind. The Baby JaR swaddle comes in ten different colours and there is one to match any nursery décor. They are 45”x45” and are 100% prewashed cotton muslin. We let miss E try out some tummy time on her new blanket and then tossed it into our diaper bag as a spare/back up blanket, which is always a good idea to have. The blankets can also be found on www.rockprettybaby.ca and are priced at a very reasonable $16.00.
Many moms would say that you can never have too many bibs or blankets, especially if you are not fond of doing multiple loads of laundry every day. Baby JaR is a great option for those in the market or anybody looking for an affordable gift or those looking for items designed and produced in the United States.
