Air Wick® Life Scents: The Power of Smell

airwick

Have you ever noticed that a particular scent can bring on a rush of old memories? The smell of fresh baking, for instance, might remind you of spending time with your mom baking sugar cookies when you were a small child. A simple whiff of a particular scent can bring on a flood of memories and even affect our mood and emotions.

I recently received an Air Wick® Life ScentsTM Collections Scented Oil kit + refills with two different scents to try at home. Air Wick Scented Oils release long-lasting fragrance, creating an inviting mood in every room of your home. The fragrances are unique and are constantly changing to allow you to experience the scents in a whole new way.

My husband’s office is in the main floor of our house and, as he works with a couple of other guys downstairs, the air can get a bit stuffy. I plugged in the Summer Delights-scented unit and left it on the lowest setting, and immediately donwstairs smelled like I had placed a bouquet of fresh flowers on the kitchen table.

I found the Life Scents very easy to use. I simply inserted the bottle into the unit, plugged it in, rotated the dial on top of the warmer to the desired setting and enjoyed the scents!

The Summer Delights scent combines fresh white florals, sweet melon and vanilla, all of which are very subtle and not overwhelming. This particular scent brings on memories of last summer for me, spending time with my two kids in the backyard, playing with water and splashing in our inflatable pool. I can vividly remember their laughs as they were both splashing my face and getting my clothes wet. Funny how powerful smell is at triggering old memories.

I also received the Mom’s Banking scent and I can’t wait to try it upstairs. This particular fragrance contains three distinct fragrance accords that can be experienced on their own, but also work together to create a cohesive and constantly changing fragrance. Vanilla, a touch of pie crust and a layer of baked pear all sound amazing to me.

Last night my husband was downstairs working for hours, and when he came upstairs he commented on the nice fresh scent. He gave me his stamp of approval and that was all I needed; coming from him, that’s a big deal. If you haven’t tried these yet I highly recommend you do.

A house isn’t a home until it is in the air. With Air Wick® Life ScentsTM you can say what you want through your home. Each Life ScentsTM fragrance contains three constantly changing unique scents that let you create your own home experience.

This is a product that I discovered last year at Blogher also. I like the scents they offer and we used them for a bit. I think they have some candles too? Anyways our downstairs is the spot where this works best.

I usually find this type of thing overpowering even on the lowest setting, but I’ve never tried this brand. I’ll have to pick one up soon!

I love the smell of sandalwood but never seem to be able to get that in these sort of things. I did buy a sandalwood candle whilst in England last year, I just couldn’t resist. 🙂
