Recently one of my fans on Facebook wrote a wall post asking about my experience with The Laundry Tarts Detergent, since I have never tried their detergent before I was very curious about it and decided to get some samples to try and review.
Because their detergent is hypoallergenic, 100% vegan and free of phosphates, EDTA, phthalates, parabens, SLS, SLES, nitrates, sulphites and chlorine I thought it was a good idea to try washing my cloth diapers with it first. To be entirely honest I was a bit nervous to change my washing routine since it has been successful so far but I do love trying new products and their product was definitively worth a try!
I received 3 sample packages with different yummy fragrances: Banana Bread, Bubblegum and Caramel Apple. I tried them all and I have been having a great experience so far.
After my first load (a particularly messy one I must add) I noticed no stains, absolutely no odour and a fresh yummy smell.
I then decided to do an overnight soak with all of the other diapers. When I woke up my washroom was smelling like Caramel Apple, not a bad thing 😉 and the water had a yellow tint! Yuck! That I couldn’t believe! They looked so clean before! Definitively glad I tried their detergent!
I have an HE washing machine and I did noticed that it was hard to get the soap to dissolve completely. I ended up using some warm water on my next load to help it dissolve a bit before the wash. The warm water did the trick and I had no more issues after that.
I also did a couple of loads of my regular laundry and the detergent worked great! I am happy that it is all natural so I don’t have to worry about allergies or any chemical residue on my families clothes anymore.
I really like their detergent and I am now thinking about making the switch once I finish the bag of my usual detergent! In the future I will probably order the unscented type for my diapers and keep using the scented for my regular clothes because it smells just yummy.
