Not only was my daughter excited to review this toy, but so was I! We are big fans of the show, Spirit Riding Free and we were so excited to play in Mr. Granger’s barn with Lucky, Pro, Abigail and even Sagebrush the horse!
The set-up definitely requires adult assistance as there are 153 pieces to work with. The set includes a two-storey barn, a stable, four characters and a variety of accessories. My daughter is four years old and was able to understand the instructions. However, I do recommend adult supervision at all times as the instructions could be a little confusing at times, and some of the pieces could pose as a choking hazard for younger children. My daughter was able to put together the bigger parts of the set, such as the roof of the barn as well as place the stickers in their right spots.
Playmobil is well-known for their quality and attention to detail. We have a lot of Playmobil sets in our household that has stood the test of time and two very imaginative toddlers. I really liked how they included a hook/winch at the front of the barn as my daughter seemed to enjoy this part of the set very much!
As you would expect from a brand like Playmobil, the pieces are well made and of great quality. This set comes with a variety of accessories, such as a hammock, hay and even a cat and mice! It has allowed my daughter hours of independent imaginary play, which I am a big fan of. I really like how there are a variety of add-ons you can add to expand your Spirit Riding Free Playmobil set — my daughter is already asking for a few for Christmas! I recommend purchasing a storage bin as to not lose the pieces. We store each themed Playmobil set we have in their own individual bins.
At the price point of $119 on , it is priced high. However, you do get the guarantee of a long-lasting, good quality toy made by a reputable toymaker that can be passed on.
