When you are travelling with kids, packing the right things to help keep them entertained is essential. There are some items that you should always pack with you, no matter the destination, like the kid’s iPads, loaded with their favourite Netflix shows.
For our preschooler, we pack snacks, water and some new Beat Bugs, Word Party, Super Monster and Octanauts episodes and he is usually set.
Our 7-year-old is happy with his fidget spinner and a bunch of episodes from his favourite shows. I love when he watches shows like “Magic School Bus Rides Again” because they are educational and he is learning without even thinking about it.
Long airport waits, and plane rides are the perfect time to catch up on your favourite shows, and we also load our devices with our own faves. Once the kids are happy and entertained, I can get my iPad ready to watch my own shows as well.
We are going to Disneyland in a few weeks, and I’ll be downloading some Stranger Things episodes to watch during the travel time! Can’t wait to get a few hours of “me” time.
My husband also downloads some of his favourite shows, and since we have some shows we are watching together, we can both download episodes and watch at the same time or take turns with one device catching up together.
Do you download Netflix shows for your children or yourself before a trip? Here are instructions on how to do it, if you have never done it before.
Disclosure: This is a partnered post with Netflix. However, all opinions and views on this post are 100% my own.

Some nice shows on netflix! 🙂
I love my Netflix!
Definitely a must have for traveling…or in general. We’re a binge watching family.
Netflix is always getting better and better and better! Definitely have plans to use it when travelling with the kids this summer! 🙂
I love all the different genres of shows! Something for everyone!
No, I don’t download movies nor shows to watch whilst travelling. I usually have my cross-stitch work with me and a good book, that’s more than enough.
I have never downloaded Netflix. I stream mostly. I will have to remember to do this for our next trip.
When my kids were young there weren’t any of these phones or such around, it must be much easier to keep kids occupied and happy during flights these days.
This is so awesome and such a great way to keep the kids happy on long road trips or for just whenever!!
My wife loves the TV shows on Netflix and I like the documentaries. Our kids are too young to be watching TV. Great article!

This article is a great reminder of how Netflix can be the perfect travel companion for family trips! With all the fun options available for everyone, it really makes long journeys much more enjoyable. That being said, when planning family vacations, I also found that using travelup for booking flights and accommodations was a huge help. They offer great deals, and even though I’ve heard mixed reviews about their customer service, my personal experience was positive, and I highly recommend checking them out for your next family getaway. It’s important to have both entertainment and smooth travel plans in place!
Traveling with kids definitely requires a solid strategy, and having a tablet pre-loaded with Netflix shows is a total lifesaver during those long airport waits. It’s great that you found a balance between educational content like “Magic School Bus” and pure entertainment to keep everyone happy. This kind of digital preparation is just as important as choosing the right itinerary for New Zealand tours, where having offline entertainment ready for those long-haul flights or scenic drives ensures a much smoother journey for the whole family.
I found this post very helpful and easy to relate to. Traveling can definitely be stressful, especially when you are worried about forgetting something important. The mention of outlet adapters really caught my attention because that is something I have forgotten before as well. Your post does a great job of highlighting these common travel challenges in a simple and engaging way. Scenic Trains
I love how this post turns a challenging situation into something meaningful and reflective. Travel restrictions have affected everyone, but your ability to “travel in your mind” is inspiring. The mention of representing space and time creatively makes me think about how art and travel are deeply connected. Really engaging content! hurghada Diving
This is such an important topic, especially for frequent travelers. Unexpected delays, cancellations, or emergencies can easily disrupt a trip. Having travel insurance helps minimize the impact of these issues. I really appreciate how you presented it as a smart and proactive step rather than something optional. It’s definitely something more people should consider seriously. caribbean vacations
This is a great reminder for frequent and first-time travelers alike. Planning a trip involves many details, but protecting the journey itself is just as important. I like how you explained it in a simple and relatable way. Travel insurance gives that confidence to explore freely without constantly worrying about what might happen. Thailand digital arrival card
I can totally relate to this! My kids also love the park, and it’s one of the few places where they can really run free and socialize. I think your idea of “stepping up” the park trip is brilliant because it turns a regular outing into an adventure. Activities like games, scavenger hunts, or challenges can make a huge difference in keeping children engaged and happy. Capture Desert safari dubai company
This is such a relatable and practical tip for parents traveling with young kids. Keeping them entertained can really make or break the journey, especially on longer trips. I like how you highlighted the importance of preparing devices like iPads in advance with their favorite shows, it definitely saves a lot of stress during travel time. Packing snacks and water is also a must, as it keeps kids comfortable and avoids unnecessary stops. I also think adding a few new episodes, just like you mentioned, is a smart idea because it keeps things exciting and prevents boredom. Overall, this is a simple yet very effective travel strategy that many parents will find helpful and easy to follow. rafting in Albania
This is a thoughtful take on modern travel choices. Private jets do provide unmatched convenience, especially when time and privacy are priorities. However, I think it’s also worth mentioning that sustainable travel options and shared luxury flights are becoming more popular too. Balancing comfort, cost, and environmental impact is becoming an important factor for many travelers. Suites larnaca
Very well-written and motivating post. Traveling is definitely more enjoyable when you don’t over-plan and instead remain open to new experiences. Flexibility allows travelers to adapt to changes, discover local culture, and meet new people. I believe this mindset not only enhances the journey but also helps create deeper connections with the places we visit. Trolley Museum
