Strange Magic Now on DVD!

Strange Magic
Strange Magic is now on DVD! This animated film from Lucasfilm Ltd. is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The film includes a colourful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps and world-class animation and visual effects.

If you a fan of musicals and Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” then you have to watch this film. Throughout the film there are many classic and contemporary pop and rock songs played and the theme of the movie centres around the idea of seeing somebody’s inside beauty rather than assuming based on their looks.

I would say the movie is great for children 6+. I did not watch this one with my 4-year-old because I thought he was a bit too young for it. The movie has some scary action scenes as well as some violence so I am definitively recommending it for older children.

In general I really enjoyed this film and I was impressed with the cool visual effects and animation. Great DVD to have and watch with the entire family!

Are you a fan of musicals??

Yes: I love musicals and, years ago, they were very popular. Now the only musicals seem to be for children-What a shame! it was such a popular genre and is now relegated to Children’s cartoons.
I have to add that most of these are tastefully done and may be enjoyed as adults as well(Hollywood, take note!),
I think this would be a wonderful movie for my grandchildren and for me, as well.

I’ve not seen this one but it does certainly sound like it’s for older children. I think my grandchildren may well be too young to watch this.
