Nowadays most people are bombarded with information and receive hundreds of e-mails, newsletters and e-cards per month. I love using technology and sending and receiving e-mails but I still really love receiving a physical card in the mail. A greeting card or a holiday card with your family photos can really make a loved one smile.
My grandparents are back in Colombia and they are not technologically inclined. They only see photos of the boys when other family members share them with their phones or when we Skype. Sending e-cards is not the same as real paper cards and this year I am sending holiday cards to my family and friends back in Colombia, as well as other members of our family and friends in different cities in Canada.
This time I decided to design and order my holiday cards using Minted. Minted.com is an online design marketplace of independent artists from around the globe. They have a great selection of holiday cards with matching envelope designs, including FREE recipient addressing for a limited time this year.
I was able to find the perfect design and I customized our cards using photos of our boys and our family. After that I selected the paper quality, the text for my card and other options and the number of cards I wanted printed. Minted’s Signature paper is thick and luxurious with a creamy cotton texture, and has been optimized for photo printing. You can also choose 100% recycled paper, Pearlescent paper which adds a subtle shimmer, DoubleThick paper or even TripleThick paper.
Designing our cards and placing the order took me about eight to ten minutes this year and I spent most of that time deciding which photos to pick for the card and the placement of the photos. I had a great experience navigating the site and placing my order. I also chose the option to get a proof sent to my e-mail before printing and I received that within a few hours of placing my order. I am now awaiting for my package to arrive via FedEx.
I can’t wait to hear from my family once they receive our cards. I love that we are spreading the holiday spirit and sending some love in the mail this year thanks to Minted.
Thinking about designing your holiday cards soon? Be sure to visit Minted to find the perfect holiday cards for your family. They have many beautiful designs to choose from.
We believe that great design lives and thrives in the hands of independent artists that people do not have access to through traditional retailers. Minted uses technology to allow consumers to discover great creative talent, making Minted a place where artists can learn, gain exposure, and build their businesses. Minted is a design marketplace. We source creative content from a global community of independent artists, then sell the best content in the form of art, home décor, and stationery, directly to consumers. An early pioneer of crowdsourcing, Minted has held art and design challenges monthly since April 2008. Challenges are open for both submission and voting, the ‘crowd’ curates Minted’s product selection by rating products, and Minted utilizes analytics to evaluate votes.
Disclosure: I was gifted a discount code to place my order, this is however not a paid post and all opinions and views on this post are 100% my own.

I love the fact that it’s so quick and easy to do. I too love getting real mail instead of an email but I’m afraid that a lot of my Christmas mail goes out via email as the cost of sending so many cards via snail mail is so expensive.
Wish this was a giveaway! 🙂 Love Minted.
very pretty, elegant and homey. nothing like personalized Christmas cards without paying a lot

Angela, thanks for the idea. You and I are a little similar. The fact is that I love to make pleasant surprises with my own hands and it is really important for me to receive a physical card as well. Although, modern technologies are also close to me. I, for one, also know how to make a digital brochure I recently went over this issue extensively on this blog. This is such informative information. And by the way, the guys from this platform create professional presentations for business, education and other social projects. Naturally, I am their regular customer, because knowledge about the presentation and its creation is now very popular.
