Summer is officially starting next week, and the sun is shining bright and beautiful here in Vancouver. We are so excited to spend lots of time outdoors, and we are looking forward to spending the summer in our gorgeous city, visiting our local beaches, outdoor pools, parks and playgrounds.
And while summer is my all time favourite season of the year, I am still extremely aware of the not so great effects of sun exposure on your skin and protecting my family from harmful UV rays is always on my mind.
Enter the new Banana Boat Simply Protect™ Kids Sunscreen Lotion.
We have been testing the new Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Kids Sunscreen Lotion for a few weeks, and we are loving it so far. The boys really dislike sunscreen sprays and prefer lotions, so this has been great for us. I like that it is super easy to rub in and it has a tear-free formula, great when dealing with impatient kids who move a lot while I am applying it.
The new Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Kids Sunscreen Lotion is made with 25% fewer ingredients, including no parabens, oxybenzone or added fragrances and oils and it provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
We usually apply an even layer on the boy’s faces, their neck, ears, arms and legs, every morning after they come out of the shower and before going to school, they also re-apply at school before recess or when going outside mid-day.
So far their skin has been fully protected, and we haven’t experienced any sunburns or skin sensitivities. I like that the sunscreen lotion has a minimal-ingredient formula that’s mild and gentle enough for even the most delicate skin.
The Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Kids Sunscreen Lotion is available in SPF 50 and also available in spray SPF 50+.
Finally, the most important thing is to protect yourself and your family from the sun’s harmful rays. Find a sun safety routine that works for you and your family – including shade, clothing, hats, sunglasses and a broad spectrum sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection with a high enough SPF.
