Furby Boom {Holiday Gift Idea}

Furby

Looking for the perfect Holiday gift for a child six-years-old and up ? Check out the new generation of Furby critters by Hasbro.

The Furby Boom has a mind of its own. This little friend speaks English and it learns more words the more you play with it, also the way you treat your Furby will shape its personality, making it unique and personalized.  The Furby Boom is a robotic “Tamagotchi” that you can physically tickle, feed with your finger and party with (it dances and sings when you play music!).

Furby

You can also download the free Furby Boom app on your mobile device and take care of your Furby using your device. You have to wirelessly connect your device to your Furby and then you can give it a name, feed it, give it a shower, take it to the toilet and watch it lay an egg. The virtual eggs hatch and raise little baby Furblings. The happier Furby is the more eggs it lays, get enough eggs and you can unlock the golden egg!

My 3-year-old loves his Furby. Even though the little creature is suggested for children 6 and up I can see how it is also fun for younger children to play with. I downloaded the Furby Boom app on my iPhone and my son loves playing with the app and feeding his Furby, giving it showers and taking it to the toilet. I love that he treats it like a pet and cares about his “feelings” and if he is hungry, dirty, sick etc.

The Furby is constantly talking and moving and responding to your touch or the app but if you need a little break you can make it go to sleep. I love that there is a way to do that, even though there is no way to turn it off.  After my son is done playing with his Furby he usually makes it goes to sleep and then takes it to his room, turns the lights off and closes the door, it’s funny.

The Furby Boom would definitively make a wonderful Holiday Gift for a young child. I remember loving my little Tamagotchi when I was young and I can’t believe how cool virtual pets are nowadays.

    I just adore this Furby Boom, isn’t he the cutest ever? So cuddly looking and he actually learns words too, fantastic. There seem to be more and more interactive toys coming on the market now. I do however hate it when I read: Battery: Required, not included. Why on earth can’t it/they be included!
