Holiday Family Portraits – Preserve Your Memories

Family Photo

Last year right before the holidays I connected with a local Vancouver photographer and had a professional family photo shoot done.  It was our first time doing a family shoot and I loved having somebody else taking the photos to be able to capture the three of us at the same time. Most of the time I am behind the camera and we are rarely all together in the same photo.

We shot outdoors and in her studio and we had some beautiful portraits done.  We were able to make holiday cards for our families with photos of the three of us and we also printed some of the photos on canvas and gifted it to grandparents, they were thrilled!

Looking at the photos from last year I realize that last year was our last holiday season as a family of three.  In a few months and before the holidays we will be welcoming our new addition to our family and we will become a family of four.

This year I am also hoping to get some nice photos done of our growing family to use for our holiday cards.  It is exciting to think that our next family portraits will feature a new little member.

There is nothing like being able to relive memories by looking at old photos and keeping a record of how your family changes every year. Do you get professional portraits/photos done every year during the holiday season?

We are finally getting some professional pictures done of the family this month. We have always taken the kids to get their baby/6month/1 year photo done at a photo studio, but we’ve never had any pictures done as a whole family. So looking forward to it! Love how natural your photos look.

You are certainly blessed with a beautiful family! I wish I had had more family portraits made as my son was growing up. There was always a reason and now I wish I had been insistent on them.

It’s true. Having portraits done regularly, once a year, is a great way to preserve memories. Changes happen so gradually day by day that you don’t notice them, but so quickly actually that you can end up missing them. With regular portraits, you have a record of all your best memories, and looking at the pictures can take you back to those treasured times.

Love your photos. I really like the out of studio shots for pictures. We had some done last April.
