Valentine’s Day is coming up, and even though we mostly celebrate romantic love that day, Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love in all its forms.

This year, let’s turn the focus outward and spread love beyond our partners and family.

Join us in the “Love in Action” Acts of Kindness Challenge, where we’ll embark on a journey to make Valentine’s Day special for everyone in our community.

Easy and Delicious One Bite Valentine's Day Chocolate Brownies

The “Love in Action” challenge is all about performing simple, yet meaningful acts of kindness throughout the week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

You can get your whole family involved and watch as your community becomes a brighter, more loving place.

Acts of Kindness Ideas:

  1. Heartfelt Notes for Neighbors:
    • Gather the kids, and create handmade Valentine’s Day cards or notes and distribute them to your neighbours. Express gratitude or share a positive message to brighten their day.
  2. Surprise Treats for Local Hard-Working Heros:
    • Bake some heart-shaped cookies or brownies, or prepare small treat bags. Deliver them to local firefighters, police officers, or healthcare workers as a token of appreciation for their service. You can also do the same for your mailman, and delivery drivers.
  3. Community Clean-Up Day:
    • Organize a  clean-up day at a local park or neighbourhood space, it can even be your neighbourhood block. Get the kids to help pick up garbage and debris!  Not only will you be contributing to a cleaner environment, but you might inspire others to do the same.
  4. Kindness Rocks:
    • Paint rocks with uplifting messages or drawings and place them around popular community spots. Encourage others to take one or leave one to keep the kindness spreading.
  5. Valentine’s Day Care Packages:
    • Assemble care packages with non-perishable food items, toiletries, and handwritten notes. Donate them to a local shelter or a family in need.
  6. Virtual Hugs for Seniors:
    • Record short video messages or create virtual cards for seniors in local nursing homes who may be feeling isolated. Share these messages to bring smiles to their faces.
  7. Donate Gently Used Items:
    • Collect gently used clothes, toys, or household items and donate them to a local charity or thrift store. Your decluttering can make a significant impact on someone else’s life. This time of year they always appreciate winter clothing, jackets, and warm outfits/boots.

You can share your acts of kindness on social media using, and encourage others to follow along and do the same.

Let’s spread love, one act of kindness at a time!

Are you up for the challenge?

Share your experiences and inspire others to join in on the fun. Together, we can make this Valentine’s Day one to remember for everyone!
