Hug-a-Bub: Company Feature / Q&As {Discount Code}

Hug-a-Bub is one of my favorite baby carrier companies and I absolutely love their organic wraps. Today I am giving you the chance to learn a bit more about who they are and how they became Hug-A-Bub.

Above is a photo of Suzanne, the  founder of the company. She kindly answered the following questions for us:

What were you doing before you started your business?

I started Hug-a-Bub 14 years ago. I have four children who range in age from 6 to 24 so I was pretty busy! I was working as a Doula and Natural Birth Educator. Even before I started Hug-a-Bub I was focused on babies!

What is your company all about?

Hug-a-Bub is all about mothers enjoying their new baby. The carrier eases babies into the world and eases mothers into mothering. It fosters bonding and meeting the baby’s needs without ignoring the needs of the mother. How many times do you hear mother’s saying that they had such a stressed out day because they couldn’t put their baby down even once? With Hug-a-Bub they don’t have to put their baby down but they can also do whatever they want to do, ensuring stress-free mothering.

What is your favourite thing about owning your own business?

I love knowing that what we are doing makes a real difference and hearing how much easier and joyful parenting can be. I also love that I can work around my family’s needs and the hours are flexible. Owning your own business makes your work a much more personal, passionate endeavour.

What’s next for your business?

We want to focus on organic products. Organic products do have a higher price point but we want to part of the solution for a sustainable future of our children and their children, not contributing to the problem. We believe that maintaining our high standards ensures a superior product that customers value. We want to grow our distribution network, particularly in the US and the UK while maintaining our commitment to manufacturing within Australia, fair trade and organic farming practices.

    Sounds like a great company with a knowledgeable owner. I wish they had these sort of things when my children were babies. I do so miss having babies and young children around but I am a grandmother now with more grandchildren to come. I will definitely pass this info on to my daughter in law as she is now a mother of a young child with more to come…Thanks for the information!

    Wish these were around when I had my babies! They look terrific. I popped over to Hug a Bub site as well and browsed around. I like that they are focusing on organic as well as practical and beautiful. Thanks for the review.

    May 25- I think these wraps are the perfect solution to a fretful baby and a harassed Mommy. Babies like to be close to Mommy and she can do her chores while keeping baby close and comforted. I applaud her dedication and passion to her work. I am happy you are sharing your sponsors with us. –Elj03ro

    I wish I had had a Hug-a-Bub when my daughter was a baby. She was one of those babies you couldn’t put down. I love how they keep the baby cuddled close to you but also allow you to move around. I also really like that as a company they are focused on part of the solution for a sustainable future. Thanks for sharing.
